This book is about Dhammanamai, which is the Thai integration of Buddhist practices and Traditional Thai Medicine (TTM) for holistic self-care of body, mind, and spirit, and care for one’s physical and social environment.
Dhammanamai principles revolve around three areas of practice: Healthy Body (Kayanamai), Healthy Mind (Jitanamai), and Healthy Lifestyle (Chevitanamai). Together they form an interrelated framework consisting of several elements and techniques that aim at enabling people to increase control over their health, and achieve a state of physical, mental, and social wellbeing.
Hence, in the book we discuss the Dhammanamai concepts, the areas of practice, its defining features and techniques, and also its growing application in Thailand as care for others apart from only being used as a form of self-care.
Note that this book aims at providing you with a conceptual understanding of the topic and is not a training course.
